The Pederson Family Love Story

$24,401 of $24,400

Our adventure began as a friendship formed amidst devastating poverty and breathtaking beauty. We were in Swaziland, on a mission trip with our church, serving two communities of orphans. It was in that beautiful country among hundreds of resilient children that we experienced the first glimpse of what a life lived on mission together could look like.

Fast forward a few short months, a few thousand miles, and one important question, we were married in the winter of 2012.

Dreams of raising a family together filled much of our early conversations. We hoped to start having children right away and then pursue adoption together as a family when our kids were old enough to understand its significance. As time passed we became well acquainted with the arduous companion of infertility. Our struggle wore on, but our hope remained steadfast. Though our life was abundantly blessed with sweet joys, we ached for a child to love. It was from within the valley of this ache that our perspective was lifted towards the bright hope of adoption. It quickly became clear that the time for us to adopt was now.

We have wholeheartedly embraced this new adventure and we have been filled with a renewed sense of purpose and passion. Our prayer has always been that our family would be marked by the discovery and display of God’s grace through the story of the Gospel, and the practice of extravagant generosity and courageous kindness. Adoption, for us, is the most tangible way to live out this vision.

For the past few months we have been pursuing infant domestic adoption through an amazing agency based here in Colorado. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and we cannot wait to see how the story of our growing family unfolds. Please join us in praying that the Lord’s grace would lead and sustain us through this journey. We invite you to share in our joy and consider partnering with us financially as we seek to bring our little one home.

Our eyes are up and our hearts are open.
