Brittany: When I think about adoption I can’t help but think of how God has placed adoption all around me in some form since I was born. Growing up, my family was very close and still is today. My mom and dad played a key role in raising my cousin. Her parents were active service members and lived out-of-state and also overseas. To my parents it was natural to step in and assist with raising my cousin so that she could stay in a stable place without moving around so much. She is three years older than me and from the day I was born we were raised as sisters. We laughed together, got in trouble together, and grew together as a family. My parents taught me by their actions that family does not just extend to an immediate blood line but to closeness of heart.
We believe that 'It takes a village to raise a child,' and we are praying that others are touched by our story and are encouraged to consider adoption.
