When we first decided to start our family, we experienced a time of waiting and that was the first time God laid adoption on our hearts as an option for growing our family. We had full confidence in knowing it might be God’s plan for us. We ended up having two biological children, but God was still laying adoption on our hearts, in a whole new way. In a way we never had a heart for it before.
In the past 3 years we have been praying and seeking and God has answered. We are excited to grow our family through adoption.
We believe adoption is a beautiful reflection of God’s love for each of us. Lori is adopted and we have seen and experienced the blessing adoption can be to both adoptive and birth families. We know that adoption can be hard and beautiful, all at the same time. We want to share this life, our family, and our love with another precious child through adoption.
Not only have we been praying for this child, but we’ve also been lifting up this momma — We believe in the process and know we will love her. Our choosing a domestic adoption had a lot to do with knowing and loving this birth momma as well as her baby. We are inspired by her in so many ways and pray that God will bring us together in His perfect time.
How did you meet?
We met in college, only two weeks after Lori got to campus. We went on our first date and the rest was history! Lori needed a date to a formal event and that formal was our last ‘first date.’
Right after that date we went on another and it was there we discussed our future ideas and all the things that meant the most to us — faith and family. We both knew we would be together forever. The ring Reid proposed with had three diamonds, one for each of our families — Lori’s birth family, Lori’s adopted family, and his family.
We are sure of God’s goodness and answered prayers in the way that He orchestrated every detail in bringing us together, and everything that has transpired in our lives — just as He is orchestrating things now.
Why now? When did you know in your heart it was time to start the adoption process?
The first time we considered adoption was when we had trouble getting pregnant. However, shortly after, we were blessed by our son, and soon after, we had our daughter. Since a couple days after her birth we discussed whether God was still pursuing adoption in our hearts.
Three years later and God provided the clarity we needed to understand that He left a place in our hearts for Him to continue to grow our family through adoption. We were ready to get the ball rolling after attending an adoption conference in the spring of 2019. We knew this was something we couldn’t NOT pursue. Our prayer turned from “Show us your will for us” to “Your will, Your way.”
We know that adoption can be hard and beautiful, all at the same time. We want to share this life, our family, and our love with another precious child through adoption.
Lori
Hi, I’m Lori! A perfect day for me starts and ends with a kiss from my husband and my kids. I’m a stay at home momma which is such a blessing and an answered prayer! A prayer I had prayed for a long time was for the ability to raise my kids at home. I am so thankful that we are able to make it happen and I don’t take a day for granted!
I love my friends and I am very social — I love being with people, hearing and sharing stories, and I love to plan a party! I love a party with a theme and especially love planning them for our kids. I spend my spare time collaborating on art projects and design efforts for others.
We stay active with our church and Sunday school group which is an incredible blessing in our lives. These friendships are much like family to us, along with other friends who we like to call family. Between our families and our ‘friend families’ we stay busy and happy in our community. I love adventures, big and small, and most of all I love the beach!
At the end of each day I give all the glory to God for the good times and the hard. I ask Him to keep me grounded in His purposes and give me peace, because I know only He is the one that can bring peace to our hearts. For now, I pray for the peace He has given us on this journey and as we wait — that He will remind me gently of His goodness! I know this child will be another miraculous answered prayer.
Reid
Hi, I’m Reid! I grew up with two loving parents and my three siblings. I feel blessed to live life with a big family, big circle of friends and community.
Sharing time and energy together with family is what life is all about for me. And golf — I have played my entire life and have a true love for the sport, which I even went on to play in college and throughout my banking career. I share this love with my family and it has been a blessing for work and for play!
Above all, I love God, my wife, and our children. God is good and I know adding a child to our family through adoption will be a beautiful testimony to Him and all that only He can do. I feel called to impact someone’s life through adoption — to give them unconditional love, resources, and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. God calls us to care for one another this way and I believe it will be a miracle to our family.

She’s finally home!
She’s finally here!
We are overjoyed to be home with our precious miracle!
While being away from home in the midst of COVID-19 certainly made things more interesting, we saw God’s hand in all of it! We were able to be present and by her side on her birthday and in the weeks following in the NICU. We are so thankful for God’s healing power over her and that 4 weeks later we were able to bring her to her forever home!
We can’t think you all enough for every prayer and all of your support! It is truly powerful knowing you have friends, family and even some kind strangers who know our story and are rooting for us as a family! Thank you all!
Now we are on to the next chapter of this beautiful journey, loving and raising our precious miracle!

We are MATCHED!
We have spent the last week in awe of God!
Pray with us for this mamma and this precious angel we have been connected with! She chose us, to have the honor of raising her precious angel for all of our days. We can’t say that without feeling the weight of what that means. We care about this brave mom making the hardest and most selfless choice.
Really, we wish we could hug her, cry with her, rejoice with her.
In every adoption there is risk involved. But there is no risk in showing someone the love of God! Because of Jesus we have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. No matter what her ultimate decision is we will rejoice in her plans and we will walk alongside her in love and understanding.
We trust the Lord will work out the details and this story He is writing will be a beautiful love story. Pray with us for peace, rest, health, and safety for this very special mom. For the health and safe delivery of this precious baby. And for us as we as we seek to love her and support her however she needs it, and for our family as we go into a season of transition.
